We all want to ensure Electrical Safety at home, but do we know enough to spot the basics? And are we remembering to do some simple checks now and then?
The most basic of checks do not need an Electrician and you can spot some of the more obvious dangers yourself. However electrical safety at home is not just about spotting some hazards, it is also about prevention in how you use appliances. In addition to this, how you treat the existing accessories that are installed (sockets, lights, cable runs and so on). Looking after things and keeping the area free of hazards will ensure that the risk of damage is low.
There are LOTS of things you can check yourself, and many of them are quick and easy. I have put this together so that you can check it step by step. I have also put photos (of my real life findings!) to show some examples of what you should look out for.
And as with all of my online advice, this is free!
You can head over to this link to get a copy of the guide. Then start doing these checks today. The title of the guide is “Do You Need a Rewire” but it has all the steps in there.
I hope you find it really useful. More important I hope that it prevents some problems from happening at all by being proactive and spotting things before they get bad. I really do want YOU to have electrical safety at home.
